Jim (a practicing veterinarian) and Kate (an automotive engineer) live a nice upper-middle class existence. One day, Kate is accused of murdering her boss, Victor, and sentenced to prison. The couple knows she's innocent, so Jim breaks her out and they go on the run. As fugitives from justice, they travel from place to place, taking odd jobs to finance their search for the real killer. Meanwhile, Victor's wife Estelle - the true mastermind of the crime - hires an assassin to bump off Jim and Kate before they can find her or Kate's lookalike Estelle hired to carry out the hit on her husband.
