A spacecraft carrying thousands of people to a distant colony experiences a malfunction. A lone passenger, Jim Preston, wakes up 90 years early from his cryogenic sleep and finds himself facing a lonely existence on the ship. Faced with the prospect of dying alone, he makes the fateful decision to wake up another passenger, Aurora Lane, also 90 years ahead of schedule. Their budding romance is threatened when they discover a critical malfunction that puts the entire ship and its passengers in mortal danger.
