A spoiled and wealthy young man, Harvey Cheyne Jr., falls overboard from an ocean liner. He is rescued by a Gloucester fishing schooner and, due to his amnesia, is mistaken for a runaway. He learns the value of hard work and camaraderie while living and working among the fishermen. Eventually, his identity is revealed, but he has been fundamentally changed by his experience.
