In ancient China, during a time of conflict, General Nan (Donnie Yen) is tasked with protecting Princess Qing (Kelly Chen) from assassins. The Princess is the rightful heir to the throne, but her uncle has usurped power. As political intrigue and battles unfold, Nan finds himself drawn to the Princess, while also facing challenges from rival general Hu Ba (Zhao Wenzhuo). The film culminates in a large-scale conflict for control of the empire.
