Plot Summary

In ancient times the Rings of Power were crafted by the Elven-smiths, and Sauron, the Dark Lord, forged the One Ring, filling it with his own power so that he could rule all others. But all of his wickedness could not keep it from him, for when he had the One Ring, Sauron the terrible, with all evil will in him, was overcome by the power of the Ring. The Ring came to the creature Frodo Baggins, who cloaked in darkness, was destined to destroy it. For when the Age had come, Frodo Baggins, a Hobbit of the Shire, inherited the One Ring from his older cousin, Bilbo Baggins. Now, Frodo must take the Ring to the one place it can be destroyed: Mount Doom, in the land of Mordor. Frodo is not alone, on his journey he is joined by the Fellowship of the Ring, four hobbits, two men, an elf, a wizard and a dwarf.
