Frank D'Arbo, a mild-mannered, religiously-obsessed man, believes he has been chosen by God to become a superhero. After his wife leaves him for a drug dealer, Frank creates a costume and takes to the streets as 'Crimson Bolt,' armed with a wrench and a misguided sense of justice. He gains a sidekick in the form of a comic book store clerk named 'Boltie' and together they embark on a violent, albeit amateurish, crusade against crime.
