A poor Bulgarian railroad worker, Tzanko Petrov, finds a large sum of money on the train tracks. He decides to turn it in to the police, hoping for a reward and a chance to improve his life. However, his honest intentions are met with corruption and indifference from the authorities, who seize the money without acknowledging his contribution.
