The final installment of the 'Rec' franchise, this film picks up immediately after the events of 'Rec 3: Genesis'. Ángela Vidal, the sole survivor and infected protagonist from the first film, is rescued from the apartment building and brought aboard a heavily guarded military ship on the ocean. However, the demonic virus is still present and begins to spread rapidly amongst the crew, turning the ship into a new battleground.

Rec 4: Apocalypse received a mixed to negative reception from critics and audiences. While some praised its return to a more serious tone compared to its predecessor and the practical effects, many found the plot convoluted and lacking the scares and tension that defined the earlier films in the series. It was often seen as a disappointing conclusion to the saga.
