In the year 2500, humanity has been overthrown by a race of intelligent, winged angels known as the "Veiled Ones." Set in the ruins of the former city of New Delphi, the series follows the lives of humans struggling to survive under angelic rule, while also exploring the ongoing conflict between warring angel factions. Alex Lannon, a human soldier, becomes entangled in the angelic power struggles, seeking to protect his people and uncover the truth behind the angels' descent.
