In the rugged American West of the 1850s, rugged backwoodsman Adam Pontipee travels to town to find a wife. He quickly chooses the sweet and capable Millie Powell, intending for her to clean up his bachelor cabin and marry off his six unruly brothers. Upon arriving, Millie is shocked by the unkempt state of the brothers and their uncouth manners, and sets about civilizing them. After the brothers finally learn to behave with a degree of refinement, Adam has a brainstorm: why not go get wives for his brothers the same way he got his? He proposes they abduct seven women from a nearby town, leading to hilarious consequences and a unique courtship.
