Struggling actress Hedda Hopper can't get a break in Hollywood, even though an acquaintence of hers is the extremely powerful gossip monger Louella Parsons - maker and breaker of careers (and lives) through her daily syndicated newspaper column. The big movie moguls, fed up with Parson's power over their stars, decide to de-claw her by setting up gossip Hopper as a competitor in the rumour industry. What they couldn't forsee was that Hopper would become as big as Parsons -- and every bit as much of a pain. Based on the true life stories of two of the most powerful (and arguably dangerous) women of Hollywood's hay-day.

Critical Reception

Malice in Wonderland is a lesser-known animated adaptation of Lewis Carroll's beloved novel. It is generally considered a more straightforward, and less critically acclaimed, version compared to other adaptations. While it may appeal to very young children for its colorful animation and familiar characters, it often lacks the depth and wit that made the original story a classic.

What Reviewers Say

  • The animation is colorful but simplistic.

  • The voice acting is serviceable but unmemorable.

  • It simplifies the story to the point of losing much of its charm and satire.

Google audience: Audience reviews for this specific adaptation are scarce, but general sentiment for less prominent animated versions often points to them being watchable for young children but lacking the enduring appeal of more celebrated adaptations.
