In a desolate, isolated island village, young boys are the only inhabitants alongside the women who care for them. Nicolas, a 11-year-old boy, begins to suspect something is wrong when he observes strange behavior from the other boys and the women, particularly during a peculiar nightly ritual. His unease grows when he sees a dead boy from his class washed ashore, prompting him to investigate the unsettling secrets hidden beneath the surface of their seemingly utopian society.
