In 1939, U.S. Air Force pilot Captain Daniel McCormick volunteers for a top-secret experiment to preserve his health while his girlfriend Helen is in a coma. He is cryogenically frozen and wakes up 53 years later in 1992. Now an old man, he must adjust to a world that has drastically changed and confront the fact that Helen is long gone.
