Plot Summary

Joe Boyd, a die-hard fan of the struggling Washington Senators baseball team, laments his team's perpetual losing streak and wishes he could sell his soul to help them win. To his surprise, the Devil, Mr. Applegate, appears and offers him a deal: he will become the Senators' star slugger, Joe Hardy, for a limited time in exchange for his soul. Joe agrees, and with his newfound talent, the Senators begin to miraculously win games, much to the chagrin of Applegate's associate, the seductive Lola.
