Plot Summary

In 18th-century France, the amoral Marquise de Merteuil and the Vicomte de Valmont, former lovers and expert manipulators, engage in a cruel game of seduction and betrayal. Merteuil commissions Valmont to corrupt the virtuous Cecile de Volanges before her marriage and to seduce the pious Madame de Tourvel.
