In 1983, Tami Oldham and Richard Sharp, a young couple, set sail from San Francisco for Tahiti in a chartered 40-foot yacht. Their honeymoon voyage turns into a fight for survival when they sail directly into one of the most catastrophic hurricanes ever recorded. They are left adrift in the Pacific, with their boat in ruins and their strength and spirit tested beyond measure.
