Sister's Keeper

In Newfoundland, Quoyle, a man constantly trying to please others, is abandoned by his unfaithful wife and moves back to his ancestral home with his two daughters and aunt. He finds work as a reporter for a small, struggling newspaper, the " তা " (The Gammy Bird). As he uncovers the stories of his community, he also begins to confront his own past and finds a new sense of purpose and belonging.

The Shipping News received mixed reviews from critics. While some praised the performances of the cast, particularly Kevin Spacey and Judi Dench, and the film's atmospheric portrayal of Newfoundland, others found the narrative sprawling and uneven, with some critics describing the film as overly sentimental and lacking a strong emotional core.
