Peter Parker finally has the life he's always wanted: he's Spider-Man, the public loves him, and MJ and him are moving forward. But when a new threat emerges in the form of the Sandman, Peter's personal life begins to unravel. A parasitic alien symbiote also infects Peter's suit, bringing out an arrogance and aggression he struggles to control, while also allowing him to defeat foes with greater ease. He must confront his own dark side and the external villains to save himself and those he cares about.
Spider-Man 3 received mixed to generally positive reviews from critics, with many praising the action sequences and visual effects, but criticizing the overstuffed plot and the large number of villains. Audiences, however, were more divided, with some enjoying the darker tone and character development, while others felt it was too convoluted and lacked the charm of its predecessors.
