A young shepherd in an Andean community hears the ominous omen of the community's chaman. Soon after, a Shining Path unit arrives in the community and assassinates the authorities. The Shining Path assign Jeremías some duties that he will not fulfill. When the army arrives, he has to flee. He leaves for Lima in search of his godfather, works several jobs, but has to flee constantly pursued by the police. Little by little he realizes that the omen is fulfilled and that Lima is a cursed city.
