Flint Lockwood and his friends are invited by their idol, Chester V, to join the Live Corp company, which has been tasked with cleaning up the island of Swallow Falls after the disastrous food storm. However, Flint soon discovers that his invention, the Food-Water eXperiment (F.W.E.X.), is still operational and creating dangerous food-animal hybrids.
