Silence

In the 17th century, two Portuguese Jesuit priests, Sebastião Rodrigues and Francisco Garrupe, travel to Japan during the period of suppression of Christianity. They face immense danger and persecution as they search for their mentor, Father Cristóvão Ferreira, who has renounced his faith. Their journey tests their faith and resolve as they witness the brutal suffering of Japanese Christians and confront their own beliefs.
