A lawyer, known only as the Counselor, gets involved in a dangerous drug trafficking operation. He partners with a wealthy businessman, Reiner, and becomes entangled with a ruthless crime lord, Malkina. As the deal progresses, the Counselor finds himself out of his depth, facing escalating violence and betrayal that threatens his life and the life of his fiancée, Laura.
