Critical Reception

The Out-Laws received largely negative reviews from critics, who found the film's humor predictable and its plot convoluted. While some appreciated the chemistry between the lead actors and the comedic performances, particularly from Pierce Brosnan and Ellen Barkin, the overall consensus was that the movie failed to deliver a satisfying blend of action and comedy, often leaning too heavily on clichés.

What Reviewers Say

  • The film attempts a humorous heist premise but struggles with its execution, often feeling derivative of better action-comedies.

  • The chemistry between Adam Devine and Nina Dobrev is a highlight, but it's not enough to save the movie from its predictable plot and weak jokes.

  • Pierce Brosnan and Ellen Barkin provide some amusing moments as the titular out-laws, but their characters lack depth.

While some viewers enjoyed the comedic performances and the fast-paced action, a significant portion found the plot nonsensical and the humor to be hit-or-miss, with many agreeing it was a forgettable comedy.

This was actually quite funny and didn't take any prisoners. As far as cheap streaming comedies go, this one delivered lots of entertainment.
