Five years after saving New York City, the Ghostbusters find themselves out of business and facing a lawsuit. However, when a new supernatural threat emerges, stemming from a river of ectoplasmic slime flowing beneath the city and a resurrected ancient sorcerer, the Ghostbusters must band together to save the world again. They deal with a new baby, public opinion turning against them, and a courtroom battle, all while facing increasingly powerful ghostly manifestations.
