Fred Ballinger, a retired orchestra conductor and composer, is vacationing in the Swiss Alps at a luxury spa. While there, he reflects on his life, his past loves, and his career, encountering old friends and strangers who prompt him to confront his regrets. Meanwhile, his daughter Lena struggles with her own personal issues, and Fred must decide whether to accept a final concert performance.
