Elemental

In a city where fire, water, land, and air residents live together, a fiery young woman and a go-with-the-flow guy discover how much they have in common. Ember Lumen, a hot-headed young woman, works in her parents' grocery store in Element City. When a plumbing issue threatens their business, she teams up with Wade Ripple, a water element who is surprisingly understanding, to save it. As they work together, they start to fall for each other, challenging the societal norms of their respective elements.

Elemental received mixed to positive reviews from critics, with many praising its stunning animation, vibrant world-building, and heartfelt performances. However, some critics found the story to be predictable and lacking the emotional depth of Pixar's previous works. Audiences generally responded more favorably, appreciating the film's unique concept and romantic storyline.

Director Peter Sohn drew inspiration for the city of Element City from his own experiences growing up as a child of Korean immigrants in New York City, translating the immigrant experience into the interactions between the different elemental residents.
