Biography
Johnny Leeze is a British television actor best known for playing Ned Glover in Emmerdale from 1994 to 2000 and Harry Clayton in Coronation Street in 1985. He made his debut in 1982 with a small part in Roy Clarke's sitcom Open All Hours. He worked with Clarke again, appearing in Last of the Summer Wine on four occasions in 1983, 1986, 1991 and 2002. He played Inspector Cox in The League of Gentlemen, Duffy Hayes in Phoenix Nights and Bill Cooper in Early Doors. He has also starred in Common as Muck, Heartbeat and its spin off series The Royal, All Creatures Great and Small, Cracker and Life On Mars. His one and only film appearance was as a journalist in the comedy Blow Dry. His real name is John Glen, but he adopted the stage name Johnny Leeze to avoid confusion with other people in the business called John Glen, including the director of several James Bond films. He was married to Carol, the mother of his two children; Nicola and Holly, for fourteen years from 1969 to 1983 but now lives alone in Cleethorpes.
