Plot Summary

Eight years ago, Citadel fell. The independent global spy agency, tasked with safeguarding the security of all humanity, was destroyed by operatives of the Manticore syndicate. With their memories wiped, Citadel's elite agents Mason Kane and Nadia Sinh went their separate ways, unaware of their past. Now, Mason is tracked down by his former colleague, Quentin Cook, who needs his help to stop Manticore from establishing a new world order. Mason then seeks out Nadia, and together they embark on a mission that spans the globe, forcing them to confront their past and the complex relationship they share.

Critical Reception

Citadel received a mixed-to-negative reception from critics, with many citing issues with its convoluted plot, inconsistent tone, and expensive production that did not match the final product. However, the action sequences and the performances of Stanley Tucci and Priyanka Chopra Jonas were often highlighted as positives. Audience reception was similarly divided, with some appreciating the spy thriller elements and others finding it to be a disappointing and overhyped series.
