The Time of Fear

Fadel, a customs employee, rethinks his life. He leaves his second wife, Badiaa, with whom he has lived for four years. For the first time, he considers praying and avoiding bribes, and moves to work in the archives. He also observes the lives of his children: Sobhi, the sheep merchant; Hussein, the leftist fighter; Zakia, the independent woman; and Zahra, the religious woman.
