Teenager Holly Hamilton is constantly moving with her family because her mother, Jean, is always falling for the wrong man. To help her mother, Holly concocts a "perfect man" who is so wonderful that her mother will be happy and stop moving. However, Holly's plan is complicated when her mother decides to move again, and Holly must find a way to stop her from leaving her current beau.
