In a distant galaxy, the Twelve Colonies of Mankind are attacked and nearly annihilated by the Cylons, a race of sentient robots. The last surviving human military capital ship, the Battlestar Galactica, along with a ragtag fleet of civilian transports, flees across the stars in search of a legendary planet called Earth. Pursued by the relentless Cylons, the Galactica's crew and the refugee fleet must band together to survive and find a new home.
