In the 25th century, people can choose to 'upload' themselves into a virtual afterlife of their choosing when they die. Nora works as a virtual afterlife attendant. When Nathan dies unexpectedly, he chooses Nora's preferred afterlife, 'Lakeview', and she is tasked with helping him acclimate to his new existence. As Nathan grows accustomed to the virtual world, he and Nora begin to develop a romantic connection, but the circumstances of his death begin to unravel.
