Alina, the title pretty girl, resigns from her job at a theater in Koszalin and goes with a friend to Michalow in Podlasie. The two take a job at the community cultural center, offered to them by Mariola, Pawel's mother, who has just been appointed mayor of the town. The charismatic mayor rules with a firm hand and sets her own rules not only in the municipality, but also in the family.
