After an accident while climbing in Patagonia, extreme sportswoman Barbara is forced to return to her home country, which she left more than ten years ago. Unlike her boyfriend, who is unable to cope with caring for Barbara, who has been confined to a wheelchair since the fall, her mother Irene and father Hans welcome her "Bärbel" home with kissing arms.
