Plot Summary

In a Detroit riddled with corporate greed and urban decay, Omni Consumer Products (OCP) plans to demolish the last remaining neighborhood to build their new Delta City. RoboCop, now a symbol of hope for the struggling residents, finds himself battling against OCP's ruthless security forces and a new breed of cyborg assassin. He must uncover the truth behind OCP's nefarious plans and fight for justice for the people he swore to protect.

Critical Reception

RoboCop 3 was poorly received by critics and audiences alike, widely considered the weakest installment in the original trilogy. It was criticized for its shift towards a more family-friendly tone, the absence of Peter Weller as RoboCop, and a convoluted plot. The film struggled to recapture the satirical edge and gritty violence that defined its predecessors.

What Reviewers Say

  • Lacked the satirical bite and gritty action of the first two films.
  • Panned for its toned-down violence and convoluted plot.
  • Considered a disappointing and unnecessary sequel.

Google audience: Audiences generally found RoboCop 3 to be a significant step down from its predecessors, with many disliking the softened tone and the departure from the original's R-rated intensity. Some appreciated the continuation of the story and certain action sequences, but the overall sentiment was one of disappointment.

Fun Fact

Actress Andrea Bloom, who played Robocop in this installment, was the first woman to portray the character. She was chosen for the role because her smaller frame allowed for a new, sleeker RoboCop costume.
