In ancient Egypt, Mathayus, a skilled Akkadian assassin known as the Scorpion King, is hired by the tyrannical King Memnon to eliminate his rebellious sorcerer opponent, Cassandra. However, Mathayus discovers he has been betrayed and sets out on a path of vengeance against Memnon, with the help of Cassandra and her people, to overthrow the empire.
